Welcome

Hello and welcome to my food blog.

I am new to blogging so I hope you will bare with me as I put together and write this blog which also serves as an online food diary of the things that I like to cook and share with my family and friends.

I like to cook using fresh ingredients but I have been known to cheat at times but, as a single mom who works full time, I think it is allowed. I am passionate about cooking as I love the different flavours, textures, tastes and colours of food.

Being a Zimbabwean living abroad, I like to cook traditional Zimbabwean / South African dishes and I am a very big fan of spicy food so lemon, herbs, garlic and chilli's are a must in my kitchen.

I hope you will enjoy my recipes and I'd love to hear from you so please feel free to comment or sent me an email. Hearing from you really makes my day.

PS: The quality of my pictures isn't very good as I don't have a camera and have to rely on my phone. If you feel sorry for me and would like to buy me a camera my address is....... lol!

I am 36 years old and originally from Harare, Zimbabwe but I now live in a little village in North Norfolk in the UK. I am engaged to a lovely Danish man called Steffen and I have 2 amazing children (my noo's) called Darryn and Savannah. Our family is complete with a slightly crazy but oh so sweet Cocker Spaniel called Bella. I am a big fan of Louise L Hay and I aspire to live the Louise L Hay way of life. :)

You called it what?

I sometimes wonder where people get the names for their blogs and, if I can completely honest, I didn't know what to call my blog.

I decided on AMANZI as that is the name of my future business. AMAN = AMANDA (my real name) and ZI = ZIMBABWE (my home) I also added FUNDU to this. It's a SHONA (Zimbabwean Language) word meaning "Provide foods of many kinds in abundance"

So there you have it, AMANZI-FUNDU was born out of my love for food and for my home Country. :)
